Directions: From Clearwater Junction, travel north on Hwy 83 for 15 miles. Turn east on Cottonwood Lakes Road 477 (small green street sign says Morrell Creek). Go 8.1 miles to the lake.

Elevation: 4907 ft.

Lake size: 10 acres                                         

Land ownership: National forest.

Facilities: Federal campground with 5 primitive campsites

Boating regs: Standard boating regulations for the state of Montana.

How to launch: There is an unsurfaced boat ramp on the south side of the road at the west end of the upper lake.

Description of paddle: There are actually two lakes. The smaller one to the west is only an acre in size. The larger one is 10 acres. Both lakes sit in a dry basin surrounded to the north and south by steep hillsides. From the shore, it's a tranquil float or paddle around the lake.
