Directions: The Clearwater Loop Road (USDA Forest Service Road 4370) is between mile markers 28 and 29, Highway 83. The trailhead is at seven miles on the well-maintained Forest Service road. The trailhead is adequately marked and usually easy to find because of the cars in the parking area. There is parking for up to 10 vehicles. When you leave the trailhead for home, continue driving in a clockwise direction. The road loops back to Highway 83 and intersects the highway one mile south of Clearwater Loop Road.

How to launch: The challenge to this paddle is not on the water, but getting your boat to the water. The trail to the lake is somewhat uneven, (and you will be hauling your boat up a modest incline to return to your vehicle), but you can launch easily off the shore at the end of the trail.
Description of paddle: From the shore, it's a lazy float or paddle on this beautiful, clear mountain lake with the Swan Range towering over you in the east.
